Tutorial for framed roses! Here are the materials you need:<\/p>\n

– A frame (Mine is 6×6 in)
\n– Origami paper (6×6 in or 15x15cm)
\n– White cardstock or other thick paper
\n– A ruler
\n– A cutting knife
\n– A pencil<\/p>\n

Before starting the project, I like to look through my color choices, and lay out my papers to determine whether I like the color scheme:<\/p>\n

Now we can begin!<\/p>\n

1. The first step is to learn how to make the roses. I won’t go over how to make them, but there are many tutorials online. (Search up “origami kawasaki rose tutorial”). Make 16 roses.<\/p>\n

2. Arrange your roses in a 4×4 square, and measure the approximate length of this square. Cut out a piece of cardstock that is slightly larger (0.2 or 0.3 inches larger is fine).<\/p>\n

3. Glue the roses onto the cardstock you just cut out, making sure that you leave a little bit of room between the roses and the edge of the paper.<\/p>\n

4. While waiting for the glue to dry, cut out another square piece of cardstock that has the same dimensions as the frame. For example, if using a 6×6 in frame, cut out a 6×6 in cardstock.<\/p>\n

5. On the cardstock you just cut out, evenly mark the dimensions of the first cardstock (the one with the roses glued on it). For example, my cardstock with roses has dimensions of 5.2×5.2 in. I drew a 5.2×5.2 inch square on my larger cardstock paper (the dotted lines).<\/p>\n

Now, mark a square that is 0.1 inches smaller than the square you just marked. For me, I marked a 5.1×5.1 inch square (solid line).<\/p>\n

6. Cut out the last square you just marked (the solid line) using your cutting knife. For me, that would be the 5.1×5.1 in square. You do not need this cut out square anymore, you just need the outer-edge portion.<\/p>\n

7. Place this outer-edge on top of the cardstock with roses. Make sure there are no gaps (the outer-edge should be fully covering the cardstock on all sides). Carefully glue the two cardstock papers together.<\/p>\n

8. Now you should have one combined cardstock sheet with roses glued on it. Place it inside the frame. It should fit nicely.<\/p>\n

9. Close the back of the frame, and you’re done!<\/p>\n
